Starting August 11 until August 29, 2025, during working days (Monday to Friday), the Central Election Commission (CEC) will welcome citizens from the diaspora who are in Kosovo during this period to informative meetings.
During these days, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Kosovo citizens living abroad can visit the CEC headquarters and the offices of the Municipal Election Commissions to receive information about the Local Elections process, with special emphasis on registration and voting from abroad.
The CEC announces that the registration period for voters outside Kosovo who wish to vote by mail in the Local Elections for Mayors and Municipal Assemblies, scheduled for October 12, 2025, is ongoing.
This period, which started on July 23, will end on August 29, 2025.
Until the deadline, all Kosovo citizens living abroad can apply to register as voters outside Kosovo. Registration must be done individually and can be completed:
- Via the CEC electronic platform at https://diaspora.kqz-ks.org or
- By mail, sending the application to the CEC’s postal box in Kosovo.
Unlike the elections for the Kosovo Assembly, in the Local Elections, voting from abroad is only possible by mail, as the Law on General Elections stipulates that voting at diplomatic representations does not apply for this type of election.
The postal voting period will begin on September 17 and end on October 11, 2025. This period applies only to citizens who have successfully registered as voters outside Kosovo during the registration period (July 23 – August 29, 2025).
