The Deputy Director of the so-called Office for Kosovo in the Government of Serbia, Igor Popović, was deported today from Kosovo after the Basic Court in Pristina fined him €3,000 and banned him from entering the country’s territory for two years.
Immediately after crossing the border into Serbia, Popović made a provocative statement, calling the Border of Republic of Kosovo “the administrative border” and stating that the process against him is “political and unjust.”
“I have just crossed the administrative border. A difficult period has ended, but nothing is worse than what other Serbs are going through who are imprisoned by the justice of God. Let’s be clear right away, there is no agreement here with Kurti’s judiciary, because I do not accept any guilt for what I said,” he declared.
He added that the trial was politically motivated.
“This process is only the result of pressure from a politically instrumentalized judiciary in Pristina and as such has no power,” Popović stressed.
