The Emergency Management Agency (EMA) has reported that in the past 12 hours, a total of 72 fire outbreaks have been recorded across Kosovo, with 11 of them still active.

According to the EMA, firefighting units and other supporting structures have managed to localize 61 of the fires, with the situation being handled in coordination with the Kosovo Police. For extinguishing a blaze in Kamenica, KFOR has also been engaged.

“EMA/MIA reports that during the last 12 hours, a total of 72 fire outbreaks were registered in the country. Of these, 11 remain active, while 61 have been localized thanks to the intervention of firefighting units and other supporting structures,” the statement reads.

The EMA noted that the most critical situation is in the Municipality of Kamenica, specifically in the villages of Tugjevc and Gmicë, where the Executive Director of the EMA was present to closely monitor developments.

“In this case, a request was made for KFOR’s engagement to conduct aerial firefighting operations,” the statement added.
