U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday delivered what he called a “final warning” to Hamas, urging the Palestinian militant group to accept a deal for the release of hostages from Gaza.
“The Israelis have accepted my terms. It is time for Hamas to do the same,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.
“I have warned Hamas about the consequences of refusing. This is my final warning—there will not be another!” he added.
According to Israel’s N12 News, Trump has presented Hamas with a new ceasefire proposal.
Under the deal, Hamas would release all 48 remaining hostages on the first day of the truce in exchange for the release of thousands of Palestinian prisoners held in Israel. The agreement would also open the way to negotiations for a permanent end to the war during the ceasefire in Gaza, N12 reported.
An Israeli official confirmed that Israel is “seriously considering” Trump’s proposal but declined to provide further details.
