The Kosovo Police Inspectorate (IPK), through investigators from its Department of Investigations, has arrested four police officers on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “tampering with evidence”, reports Gazeta Sinjali.

According to initial findings, it is suspected that on September 13, 2025, the officers failed to properly process a criminal case related to “Causing General Danger” and allegedly hid and manipulated evidence found at the crime scene.

The Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Mitrovica has imposed a 48-hour detention measure on the suspects.

“As part of administrative procedures, IPK has recommended to the Kosovo Police – Regional Directorate of Mitrovica South the suspension of the four suspects, who were on duty at the Mitrovica South Police Station. IPK investigators, in full coordination with the Prosecutor’s Office, will continue to undertake further investigative actions to fully clarify all circumstances related to this case,” the statement reads.
