Kosovo Security Force Commander Meets U.S. SATMO Leader to Discuss Training and Capacity Building

The Commander of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), Bashkim Jashari, hosted a meeting with Colonel Thomas Melton, Commander of the U.S. Security Assistance Training Management Organization (SATMO).

According to the KSF, the discussion focused on ongoing activities, including SATMO’s support in enhancing training capacities and the validation process of KSF units, which form a key part of the force’s long-term development plan.

The two commanders also addressed the three-year plan of joint activities set to be implemented in the coming years. It was emphasized that SATMO teams play a vital role in strengthening the training programs and building new capabilities for the KSF.

General Jashari welcomed Colonel Melton and thanked him for the contribution and dedication of SATMO teams in strengthening and developing the Kosovo Security Force. The achievements of the KSF so far and the outstanding performance of its members during joint activities with SATMO were also highly praised,” the official statement read.

This cooperation highlights the deepening partnership between the KSF and U.S. military structures, aimed at boosting Kosovo’s defense capabilities and ensuring sustainable professional development.
