United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres met with U.S. President Donald Trump at UN headquarters in New York.
Guterres welcomed the American president and recalled the “long and dynamic contribution” of the United States in supporting the Organization, while also expressing “gratitude for this support since the founding of the UN.”
The meeting focused on current international developments, with particular emphasis on the war in Ukraine.
The Secretary-General acknowledged “President Trump’s efforts to resolve conflicts around the world” and expressed the United Nations’ “readiness to work with the United States in pursuit of peace.”
