Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić met with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio during his visit to New York. Following the meeting, Vučić wrote on social media that Serbia is committed to maintaining peace and stability, which he described as a prerequisite for further progress and a better life for all citizens.
The Serbian president expressed gratitude for the United States’ role in protecting the safety of the Serbian population in Kosovo, as well as for its contribution to the ongoing dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo.
“At the same time, we also value the support of the United States on our path toward full membership in the European Union, which remains one of our country’s strategic goals,” he wrote.
Vučić emphasized that his conversation with Rubio was open, based on mutual trust and respect.
