Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama announced today that the Vjosa River has been officially recognized as part of the UNESCO World Heritage list, under the international program “Man and the Biosphere”.
In a statement shared on Facebook, Rama expressed pride in this achievement, calling it a historic step in protecting nature and biodiversity.
“Vjosa in UNESCO. Vjosa has officially been included in the ‘Man and the Biosphere’ program as part of the World Heritage list,” Rama wrote.
The inclusion of the Vjosa highlights its global ecological value, placing it at the center of international attention as a natural treasure of extraordinary importance for ecosystems and local communities.
