Police in North Mitrovica, in coordination with officials from the Directorate for Narcotics Trafficking Investigation, conducted a targeted operation near “Car Lazar” Square on Saturday following intelligence reports about illegal items stored in a basement.
During the search, police units confiscated:
- One automatic rifle
- One hunting rifle
- 50 rounds of ammunition
- A rifle stock
- A pair of handcuffs
- A rifle holder
- A gas mask with carrying case
- A gun holster
- Five empty magazines
The State Prosecutor has been notified and has opened an investigation under suspicion of the criminal offense of “Unauthorized ownership, control, or possession of weapons.”
Authorities confirmed that no arrests were made during the operation, while investigations are ongoing to identify those responsible and trace the origin of the weapons.
