The streets of Tirana, Albania, have been covered with billboards calling for the release of former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) who are currently facing trial in The Hague.

Across the city, large posters display the slogan “Freedom for the Liberators”, alongside images of Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, and Rexhep Selimi.

The four former political and military leaders — Thaçi (former President of Kosovo), Veseli and Krasniqi (former Speakers of Parliament), and Selimi (former MP) — have been held in detention since November 2020, awaiting trial at the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague.

The billboard campaign reflects continued public support and advocacy efforts for their release, both in Albania and Kosovo.
