The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, will today award a decoration to the President of the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA), Gianni Infantino.
The official ceremony will take place at the Presidency at 13:00.
The head of the Football Federation of Kosovo (FFK), Agim Ademi, expressed his gratitude to President Osmani for this decision, describing it as a gesture that demonstrates Kosovo’s institutional respect for Infantino’s role and contribution to the development of football in the country.
“Gianni Infantino had the honor, during his very first FIFA Congress as president in 2016, to announce Kosovo as an equal member of the organization. It was a historic moment that forever changed our path as a state in the international football arena,” Ademi wrote on Facebook.
He added that under Infantino’s leadership, FIFA has continuously supported the FFK through the FIFA Forward program, helping to build infrastructure, develop youth football, and enhance the professional level of players and coaches in Kosovo.
“This decision of yours, Madam President, further strengthens the partnership between state institutions and sports organizations, proving that football is a bridge that unites people, generations, and nations,” Ademi emphasized.
According to him, this decoration represents a great honor for the entire football community in Kosovo and for all those who have contributed to this long and proud journey.
