A number of Serb citizens have gathered in the main square of North Mitrovica, “Korzo,” near “Car Lazar.”
They have been mobilized by the Serb List (Lista Srpska) and are expected to vote in an organized and unlawful manner, violating the principles of free and individual voting guaranteed by Kosovo’s election laws.
Today, citizens of the Republic of Kosovo are exercising their constitutional right to vote in the regular local elections, being held across 38 municipalities of the country.
According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), a total of 2,069,098 voters are eligible to vote in these elections, including 43,993 registered voters from abroad.
Voting by mail began on September 17 and concluded yesterday, October 11.
A total of 93 political entities have been certified to participate in the elections, including 32 political parties, 2 coalitions, 32 citizens’ initiatives, and 27 independent candidates.
