The President of the Albanian Football Federation (FSHF), Armand Duka, appeared visibly emotional following Albania’s historic away victory against Serbia.

Speaking to DigitAlb, Duka said the win was “essential” for keeping Albania’s World Cup dream alive, while also sharing light-hearted remarks in the spirit of celebration.

“We’re in the excitement of the celebration; I can’t even remember exactly what I said… It was a great and necessary result. The boys gave everything. We’re not even halfway there yet,” Duka stated.

He praised the organization and logistics of the match, noting that the change of venue played a positive role. Duka emphasized that performances in both Tirana and Elbasan had also been impressive, but there is still room for improvement.

Concluding his remarks, he affirmed:

“A winning team is not up for debate — a winning coach doesn’t get replaced.”

Regarding officiating, Duka commended the referee, describing him as “one of the best in Europe,” who managed the match with fairness and professionalism, without any external influence.
