The State Prosecutor’s Office has announced that around 100 prosecutors and personnel from the prosecutorial system worked — and continue to work — to ensure the smooth conduct of the electoral process.

In its official statement, the Prosecutor’s Office said that after verifying and handling several reports, it was determined that only two cases contained elements of criminal offenses against voting rights by the time voting concluded.

“The first case was initiated in the village of Bare – South Mitrovica, for the criminal offense of ‘Violation of the secrecy of the vote’, where the suspect was released under regular procedure by decision of the prosecutor,” the statement reads.

“The second case was initiated in Kllokot – Gjilan, for the offense of ‘Violation of the free determination of voters’, where the suspect was also released under regular procedure by decision of the prosecutor,” it adds.

The State Prosecutors will continue to remain on duty during the counting of votes at polling stations until the ballots are transferred to the municipal counting centers.
