Israeli media outlets have reported that seven hostages held by Hamas have been handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in the Gaza Strip.

However, no official confirmation has yet been issued by either the Red Cross or the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), according to a report by BBC.

This development comes as part of a mediated agreement aimed at releasing hostages in exchange for a temporary ceasefire and the release of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.

It remains to be seen whether this marks the first step toward the full implementation of the agreement, as official statements from both sides are still awaited.
