Kosovo’s Acting Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, held a key meeting with Michael F. Miller, Director of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) at the U.S. Department of Defense, during the international defense fair “AUSA 2025.”

Also present at the meeting were FSK Deputy Commander Major General Enver Cikaqi, Kosovo’s Defense Attaché in the U.S., Sylejman Cakaj, and Colonel Ahmet Ajeti, Director of the Department for International Cooperation and Euro-Atlantic Integrations.

The discussions focused on bilateral cooperation and strategic procurements.

“During the meeting, the parties extensively discussed the current cooperation in defense, particularly in the procurement of equipment and weapon systems through the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) mechanism, which was recognized as an efficient model with clear benefits for Kosovo. This mechanism enables state-to-state purchases with the U.S., offering lower costs and higher quality of procured products,” the meeting statement emphasized.

Other topics included future procurements for the needs of the Kosovo Security Force (FSK), as well as the assistance Kosovo has provided to Ukraine within the framework of international support efforts.

U.S. Director Michael F. Miller also congratulated Kosovo on signing the Communications and Information Systems Security Memorandum of Agreement (CISMOA), describing it as a critical step toward deepening cooperation in the field of security.
