Richard Grenell, the Special Envoy of President Donald Trump for Special Missions, has once again criticized the Hague Court, calling it “totally corrupt” and demanding that its funding be suspended.
In a post on Platform X, Grenell also mentioned U.S. prosecutor Jack Smith, who previously worked at the Hague tribunal.
“The Hague Court is totally corrupt and should no longer be funded. Jack Smith was one of their prosecutors who arrested the sitting president of Kosovo more than five years ago. He is still in prison. The trial has only recently begun,” Grenell wrote.
This is not the first time Grenell has called for the release of Hashim Thaçi, labeling his imprisonment as “unjust and unacceptable.” His remarks come after a large protest in Tirana, where demonstrators demanded justice for the former KLA leaders detained in The Hague.
Grenell reiterated his position last night, writing:
“The Hague is out of control. This is what Jack Smith has done.”
