The health condition of former Albanian Prime Minister Fatos Nano has remained unchanged for 16 days.
Nano continues to be hospitalized in the intensive care unit of a private hospital in Tirana, following a cardiorespiratory arrest at his home. He remains unconscious, showing minimal responses to light, according to sources cited by Euronews Albania.
Despite immediate intervention by ambulance and medical teams, his heart function was restored thanks to prompt resuscitation efforts.
Multidisciplinary teams overseeing his intensive care describe his condition as very serious, noting that the biggest challenge remains the recovery of brain function, which is highly sensitive to oxygen deprivation during a cardiac arrest. Care for the former prime minister continues without interruption.
