Deputy Speaker of the Assembly and Vetëvendosje official, Albulena Haxhiu, accused the opposition parties of joining forces with the Serb List to block the vote for the Kurti III Government.
Haxhiu said that Sunday’s session reminded her of March 25, 2020, when, according to her, all political rivals had united to topple the first Kurti government.
“Familiar faces, familiar smiles. Today, October 26, 2025, reminded me of March 25, 2020. Back then, they all joined forces to bring us down — today they prevented the new government from being formed. Then they overthrew Kurti 1, now they blocked Kurti 3. In the Assembly, the Old Political Club once again prevented the vote for the man most voted in Kosovo’s history. The Serb List, as always, by their side,” she wrote.
Haxhiu emphasized that this situation is temporary, asserting that Vetëvendosje and Kurti will return “with the people on their side.”
“This is temporary. Many times they thought they had defeated Vetëvendosje and Albin Kurti, but everyone knows where we are and where they are. We will return — with the people and with unbreakable principles. Those who do not have the people’s support cannot blackmail us with numbers. There are no more terminals, embassies, or tenders traded for votes. Neither the people of Kosovo nor we owe them a seat. And for that reason, they will never break Vetëvendosje or Albin Kurti. Their arithmetic cannot defeat our political will. The Republic will not serve interest groups, but the citizens — without exception. Our battle for a dignified Kosovo, without crime or corruption, continues. Even stronger,” Haxhiu declared.
On Sunday, the Kurti III Government failed to pass the vote in the Assembly, receiving 56 votes in favor, 48 against, and 4 abstentions.
