Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Russia has no intention of attacking any NATO member state and is ready to formalize this commitment within a security guarantees agreement.

The statement, reported by the Russian state news agency TASS, comes amid heightened tensions between Moscow and Western capitals following recent U.S. sanctions targeting Russia’s energy sector.

Lavrov also addressed former U.S. President Donald Trump, expressing hope that he would honor the pledges made during his meeting with President Vladimir Putin in Alaska earlier this year.

“We hope that President Trump will continue his sincere efforts toward resolving the crisis in Ukraine and uphold the principles outlined at the Alaska summit, based on American proposals,” Lavrov said.

His comments follow Trump’s recent decision to impose sanctions on Russia’s two largest energy companies, Rosneft and Lukoil, after the Kremlin refused to halt military operations in Ukraine.

Lavrov’s remarks appear aimed at easing Western fears of a broader confrontation while signaling Moscow’s willingness to engage in renewed diplomatic dialogue on European security.
