Aleksandar Olenik, lawyer and vice president of the League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina, has accused President Aleksandar Vučić of committing a criminal offense by claiming that two snipers have arrived in Belgrade, calling it an act of inciting panic under Article 343 of the Serbian Criminal Code.

Olenik criticized the Prosecutor Nenad Stefanović for remaining silent, suggesting that the statement appears as “false victimization” while opposition members face prosecution.

Vučić made the comments during a TV interview on Prva, stating that authorities are pursuing two snipers in Belgrade, whom they have been unable to locate for three days, without specifying potential targets. He added that they know the origin of the funds involved and expressed confidence that security services will resolve the issue.

Olenik described the statement as unnecessary and potentially destabilizing, arguing that it spreads panic rather than public safety awareness.
