Acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, emphasized that the political party Lëvizja Vetëvendosje (LVV) has no legal obligation to obtain 61 signatures to present the name of Glauk Konjufca to President Vjosa Osmani as the candidate for forming the new government.
“There is no obligation to secure 61 signatures; our strong position is being tested, and beyond that, it is both a right and a responsibility to do everything possible to avoid new elections,” Kurti said during a press conference.
He announced that LVV has already sent President Osmani the name of Glauk Konjufca for formal mandate consideration.
“It would be a great loss if we are forced to hold elections both in December and in April. Therefore, today we submitted the name of the second mandate candidate, Glauk Konjufca, to the President, in order to make another attempt at forming the government and avoid two rounds of elections within a few months,” Kurti added.
