The European Commission published its 2024–2025 Progress Report on Kosovo on Tuesday, noting that the country has made progress — albeit limited — in several areas. However, the report also highlights the political deadlock as a factor slowing Kosovo’s EU path.
European Parliament rapporteur for Kosovo, Riho Terras, described the past year as “challenging” and called on EU institutions to lift the restrictive measures imposed on Kosovo, emphasizing that the country has demonstrated resilience, commitment, and democratic continuity.
“Kosovo has shown resilience and commitment, maintaining public order, peace, and democratic continuity, and stands ready to cooperate with EU institutions. We must respond with the same courage and political determination,” Terras stated.
The Progress Report will serve as the basis for the EU’s future decisions on Kosovo’s integration process.
