Former President of the Republic of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, participated in the 9th edition of the World Peace Forum held in Jakarta, Indonesia, where global figures, government representatives, religious leaders, and delegations from numerous countries gathered to discuss peace and cooperation.
During the opening dinner, Jahjaga announced via Facebook that she had held meetings with senior officials of the Indonesian Government, as well as with delegations from Japan, China, Russia, Australia, the United Kingdom, Egypt, Iran, Thailand, Malaysia, East Timor, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and others.
In her discussions, Jahjaga emphasized the importance of recognizing the Republic of Kosovo, stressing that such recognition not only contributes to peace and stability in the Balkans, but also helps build stronger global partnerships that support security and development worldwide.
“The recognition of Kosovo is an act that strengthens democratic values and creates room for deeper cooperation among our nations,” said Jahjaga.
She also noted that Kosovo today is a more mature state, with stable institutions and valuable experiences to share with countries facing challenges similar to those Kosovo overcame over the past two decades.
“We are ready to contribute as a positive example of post-conflict transformation,” added the former president.
