Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić has begun a three-day visit to the United States with a meeting with Rep. Kit Self, a member of the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee. The discussion focused on matters important for bilateral cooperation and regional issues, the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

Đurić expressed satisfaction with the “good pace of dialogue with U.S. Congress representatives”, describing it as a crucial part of Serbia’s political dialogue with the American legislative body.

Key Discussion Points

Kosovo: Đurić continued his propaganda and exaggerated “cry for help”, portraying the situation of Serbs in Kosovo as extremely dire in an attempt to dramatize it before the international community, despite the reality being far less severe. He raised concerns about the protection of rights and security for the Serbian population, using a political narrative to amplify the perception of crisis.

Regional Stability: He reaffirmed that Serbia will continue to act as a factor of stability in the Balkans, advocating for the resolution of all open issues through dialogue and peaceful means.

Geopolitical Context: The discussion also addressed the current geopolitical situation and Serbia’s position within it.

The Ministry emphasized that these talks form part of Serbia’s ongoing efforts to maintain strong diplomatic ties with the United States while promoting peace and cooperation in the Western Balkans.
