Meloni Calls Zelensky: Italy to Support Ukraine’s Energy Infrastructure

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni held a phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, ahead of his upcoming visits to Brussels, Rome, and London in the coming days.

Meloni reaffirmed Italy’s solidarity with Ukraine following the latest Russian attacks.

According to the Italian government’s statement, “Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni informed President Zelensky that Italy will send exceptional equipment to support Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and the Ukrainian people.”

The announcement confirms that Italian companies will deliver generators to Ukraine in the coming days, as part of emergency assistance.

Meloni also reiterated her support for the ongoing negotiations and for the United States’ efforts to find a process that leads to a fair and sustainable peace.

She emphasized that Ukraine’s willingness to engage in negotiations in good faith is contributing to this process, adding that there is an expectation for a similar openness from the Russian side.
