All political entities registered for Kosovo’s upcoming parliamentary elections have officially submitted their candidate lists to the Central Election Commission (CEC), marking the formal closure of the legal deadline for nominations.

With the submission of these lists, the CEC will now begin the process of verification and certification, paving the way for final preparations ahead of the early parliamentary elections.

According to the data released, a total of 24 political entities have submitted their respective lists, including the major parliamentary parties as well as representatives of non-majority communities.

The number of candidates varies significantly between parties, ranging from single-candidate initiatives to full lists of 110 candidates, which represent the maximum allowed under Kosovo’s electoral legislation.

Among the parties that submitted full 110-name lists are:

  • Vetëvendosje Movement
  • Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK)
  • Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK)
  • Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK)
  • Social Democratic Initiative (Nisma)

The participation list also includes political parties representing Turkish, Bosniak, Roma, Ashkali, Egyptian, Gorani and Serb communities, as well as various civic initiatives, ensuring broad political pluralism and representation in the electoral process.

In total, the submitted lists include 1,181 candidates, who will now undergo review by the CEC to confirm compliance with all legal requirements.

Following the verification phase, the CEC is expected to publish the final list of certified candidates who will compete in the upcoming national elections.
