The Kosovo Chamber of Commerce (OEK) has called on the European Union to immediately lift the restrictive measures imposed on Kosovo, warning that they are obstructing the country’s economic progress.

In a letter addressed to the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, OEK President Lulzim Rafuna—who also serves as Chairman of the Board of the Western Balkans 6 Chamber Investment Forum (WB6CIF)—expressed serious concern about the ongoing measures.

According to Rafuna, the restrictions have blocked access for Kosovo’s institutions and businesses to vital EU economic development instruments, effectively freezing more than €600 million worth of projects in environmental protection, energy, digitalization, and local infrastructure.

“The Kosovo Chamber of Commerce requests the removal of these measures in order to ensure equal access to regional mechanisms and to guarantee that Kosovo’s private sector can fully contribute to our shared European future,” the Chamber’s statement reads.
