Jeton Zulfaj, political advisor to the Prime Minister of Kosovo, publicly accused Serbian government official Marko Đurić of misrepresenting facts related to last year’s attack on the Ibër–Lepenc canal.
In posts on X (formerly Twitter), Zulfaj stated that although Đurić publicly called for an investigation into the incident, he was already aware of the perpetrators, having reportedly met with the alleged attacker, Milan Radoičić, during the same period. Zulfaj characterized Đurić’s call for an investigation as a strategic public relations effort directed at Western audiences rather than a genuine pursuit of accountability.
Zulfaj further asserted that Serbia’s approach in the region follows a consistent pattern: orchestrating or supporting destabilizing actions in the Western Balkans while positioning itself as a victim to Western powers.
“An excellent student of Russia. Marko, the FBI investigation confirms your involvement. How will you respond now: that you were compelled to post, that you are a habitual deceiver, or both?” Zulfaj wrote, underscoring his accusations against Đurić.
The remarks contribute to ongoing tensions between Kosovo and Serbia, particularly over accountability for cross-border incidents and Serbia’s influence in the Western Balkans.
