Montenegro’s Prime Minister, Milojko Spajic, announced that the EU Council Presidency and member states have decided to establish a working group to draft the accession treaty for Montenegro’s entry into the European Union.

Spajic stated that the record number of chapters closed in Montenegro’s EU negotiations served as a strong motivation for the Council to move toward the final phase of EU integration.

“The EU Council Presidency and the Member States decided at yesterday’s meeting to create a working group to draft the Accession Treaty for Montenegro. The record number of chapters closed is the most tangible motivation for the Council, as well as for us, to enter the final stage of EU integration with all our efforts,” Spajic wrote.
