Albania has confirmed its first case of measles, involving a child who recently arrived from the United Kingdom and was not vaccinated against the disease.
According to reports, the child is currently receiving treatment at the Infectious Pediatrics Service. The Institute of Public Health (ISHP) has conducted an epidemiological investigation, which so far has not identified any additional infected children, reports TCH.
Doctors and public health experts from the ISHP have issued a strong call for child vaccination, stressing that immunization remains the most effective measure to prevent the spread of measles and protect public health.
