KFOR Commander Meets Mitrovica South Mayor, Discusses Security Situation

Major General Özkan Ulutaş, commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission in Kosovo, met today with Faton Peci, mayor of Mitrovica South, at the municipal offices.

According to KFOR, discussions focused on the overall security situation as well as issues affecting local municipalities and citizens. General Ulutaş emphasized KFOR’s ongoing commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment for all residents of Kosovo.

“KFOR continues to implement its mandate, based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999, with the aim of contributing to security, stability, and freedom of movement for all, impartially and at all times,” KFOR stated.

The mission highlighted that it works closely with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), each operating according to their respective roles as security responders.
