UAE to Fund €25 Million New Gynecology Hospital in Prishtina

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will donate €25 million for the construction of a new Gynecology Hospital in Prishtina, Kosovo, officials have confirmed. Preparations have already begun to select the hospital’s location.

Kosovo’s Ambassador to the UAE, Xhabir Hamiti, announced the news in a Facebook post, highlighting the close cooperation between Abu Dhabi and the Kosovo Ministry of Health.

“During this week, I was received by Her Excellency Dr. Noura Al-Gauthi, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi. She informed me that, together with our Ministry of Health, they have begun preliminary preparations to select the location for the implementation of the €25 million donation from the UAE for the construction of the New Gynecology Hospital in Prishtina,” Hamiti wrote.

In addition, the UAE will invest €7.5 million in the renovation and equipping of the Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Vushtrri, including state-of-the-art medical technology.

Ambassador Hamiti expressed Kosovo’s deep gratitude to the UAE leadership, particularly President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the Emirati people for their generous support, which directly advances healthcare standards in Kosovo.

This initiative is expected to significantly improve maternal and women’s healthcare services and strengthen the medical infrastructure in the region.
