Russian forces launched overnight drone and missile strikes across Ukraine, killing two people in the Kyiv region and injuring several others, Ukrainian officials reported Wednesday.

In Kyiv, a man and a woman were killed, while four others, including two children, received medical treatment, according to regional governor Mykola Kalashnyk via Telegram. A 17-story residential building sustained minor damage to its roof and upper-floor windows, emergency services said.

The Ukrainian Air Force stated that Russia fired an Iskander-M ballistic missile and deployed 146 drones, of which 103 were intercepted by air defense systems.

Continued Attacks in Southern and Central Ukraine

The southern port city of Odesa, marking a second consecutive night of drone attacks, reported three injuries and damage to port infrastructure. The city had already declared a day of mourning after three civilians were killed in a previous drone strike, according to city military administration head Serhiy Lysak.

In central Ukraine, the city of Kryvyi Rih experienced a missile strike that injured two people and damaged an infrastructure facility. Approximately 700 buildings were left without heating, officials said.

Early Wednesday, Russian attacks also targeted the southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia, leaving four injured and causing damage to at least 12 residential buildings. Partial power outages were reported in the affected areas, according to governor Ivan Fedorov.

Zaporizhzhia, located near the frontline, has been regularly targeted since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
