The Kosovo Assembly is set to hold a session on Sunday, October 26, to vote on the formation of the country’s new government.
One day ahead of the vote, acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti was asked by reporters whether he has secured enough votes for the new government, but he declined to provide any answer, according to Telegrafi.
On October 11, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani formally tasked Kurti, leader of the Vetëvendosje (LVV) party, with forming the new government, eight months after the general elections.
With only one day left to submit the proposed cabinet, LVV has yet to take any concrete steps. No meetings or negotiations with other political parties have been reported, which are necessary to build a governing coalition.
LVV currently holds 48 seats in the Assembly, but a minimum of 61 votes is required to form a government, meaning the party still needs support from other parties to secure approval.
