The Austrian Embassy in Kosovo has condemned the attack on the Ibër-Lepenc canal, emphasizing its critical importance for the water supply.
The embassy stressed that the attack must be investigated quickly, and those responsible should be brought to justice.
“We condemn the attack on the Ibër-Lepenc canal. The canal is essential for the water supply and the operation of Kosovo’s largest power plant. This attack must be investigated swiftly, and the perpetrators must be held accountable,” the embassy said.
The explosion that occurred last night in the village of Varragë in the municipality of Zubin Potok damaged the Ibër-Lepenc water canal, which supplies several cities in the country with water from the Ujman Lake, as well as the Kosovo Energy Corporation for cooling its thermal power plants.
Foreign diplomatic missions have condemned the attack, calling for the perpetrators to be held accountable.
