The issue of Kosovo was the primary topic of discussion during CIA Director William Burns’ recent visit to Belgrade.
International media giant BBC, citing unofficial sources, reports that discussions with Serbian officials focused more on political matters than on intelligence issues. “The meetings primarily addressed Kosovo,” according to the BBC article.
Kosovo was the final destination of Burns’ tour.
In Pristina on August 22, Burns met with Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani and the head of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (AKI), Petrit Ajeti.
Following his meeting with Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Kurti publicly thanked Burns for the support extended to Kosovo.
