Following the first-instance convictions of former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) leaders by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague, Bekim Jashari has reacted publicly to the verdicts.

Jashari shared the KLA logo on his Instagram story, accompanied by the message: “Long live the Kosovo Liberation Army.”

His reaction came amid numerous responses to the verdicts throughout the day, as political figures, families of the defendants and supporters expressed differing views following the court’s decision.

The Specialist Chambers found former KLA leaders Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi guilty of several war crimes and sentenced them to prison terms. The verdicts are first-instance decisions and can be appealed.

Jashari, a nephew of former KLA commander Adem Jashari and a former mayor of Skenderaj, did not provide further comment alongside his social media post.

The verdicts have prompted strong reactions across Kosovo and the wider region, reflecting continuing divisions over the legacy of the 1998–1999 Kosovo war and the role of the KLA.
