Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has declared that Belgrade will deploy its full state apparatus and resources to support Srpska Lista (the Serbian List) in the upcoming Kosovo general elections.

Speaking to reporters regarding Belgrade’s expectations for the electoral cycle, Vučić framed the ballot as a critical existential battle for the political survival of the Serb minority in Kosovo. He asserted that the authorities in Prishtina are actively coordinating efforts to splinter the Serb electorate by backing alternative, Belgrade-pliant political factions.

   • Central Target: Consolidate 100% of the Serb vote under Srpska Lista.
   • Rhetorical Frame: Existential survival vs. Prishtina-backed "collaborators."
   • Core Demand: Immediate establishment of the Association of Serb Municipalities (ASM).
   • Legal Pillars: UN Resolution 1244 and the UN Charter.

Polarizing Rhetoric Ahead of the Polls

Vučić did not mince words when discussing the political dynamics in Prishtina, accusing the Kosovo government of attempting to dilute Serbian institutional unity by weaponizing domestic political processes.

“We will fight. We will support Srpska Lista with all our strength, and we will fight for the positions of the Serbian people,” Vučić stated. “The Albanians will do everything they can to defeat the Serbs, aggressively backing their own servants and those who wish to destroy Serbia.”

By framing independent or alternative Kosovo-Serb political candidates as “servants” of Prishtina, Belgrade continues its long-standing strategy of enforcing strict, centralized political monolithism among the Serb population south of the Ibar River.

The ASM as an Existential Guarantee

Turning to diplomatic gridlocks, Vučić reiterated that the formation of the Association of Serb Municipalities (ASM)Asociacioni i Komunave me Shumicë Serbe—remains the non-negotiable baseline for any localized stability. He described the implementation of the ASM not merely as a diplomatic point, but as the literal mechanism for the “survival of the Serbian people.”

Furthermore, the Serbian President criticized the international community’s selective enforcement of international law, demanding a return to foundational legal texts amid ongoing regional friction:

“We are waiting to see when and in what manner many people will finally remember that respecting the UN Charter and UN Security Council Resolution 1244 has no alternative,” Vučić concluded.

The statements signal an aggressive, highly mobilized campaign by Belgrade to maintain its iron grip over Kosovo’s legislative seats reserved for the Serb community, setting the stage for a tense electoral showdown with Albin Kurti’s administration in Prishtina.
