Serbia has refused the meeting with chief negotiators scheduled for September 17, according to the agenda set by the European Union mediator Miroslav Lajčák, stated Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi on Friday (September 13), responding to the Serbian media outlet “Tanjug,” which reported that the Kosovo side had refused the meeting.
In a post on “X,” Bislimi mentioned that Serbia attempted to impose agenda items “intended for internal political consumption.”
Kosovo’s chief negotiator called on mediator Lajčák “to deny the deliberate disinformation by Serbian media, which falsely claim that Kosovo refused the trilateral meeting of chief negotiators.”
On September 6, Lajčák visited Kosovo, where after his meeting with Bislimi, he expressed that an “agreement for the next meeting” had been reached, though no further details were provided. Later, on September 10, the Slovak envoy visited Serbia “to prepare for the upcoming meeting at the level of chief negotiators.”
As reported by “Tanjug,” Serbia requested that the discussion include the issue of the Ibër Bridge and the formation of the Association.
