Barcelona is reportedly identifying the profile of striker it wants to target in the upcoming summer transfer window, in case it fails to secure a move for Julián Álvarez from Atlético Madrid.

According to the Catalan newspaper SPORT, the club is looking for a traditional “number 9” striker with height, strong physical presence in the box, and elite-level experience, as part of its squad planning for next season.

In this context, one of the players being monitored is Kosovo striker Vedat Muriqi, currently playing for Mallorca, who has been in strong form this season and is among the top scorers in La Liga.

However, there have been no official contacts with the player’s representatives so far. Reports suggest Barcelona has only made preliminary inquiries through intermediaries to assess his situation.

Muriqi, 31, standing at 1.94 meters, has become a key player for Mallorca thanks to his aerial strength, physicality, and goal-scoring ability.

He is currently in contention for the “Pichichi” top scorer award, sitting just two goals behind the leaders.

The Kosovan striker has a release clause of €40 million, while his contract with Mallorca runs until 2029. However, a potential transfer could reportedly happen for a lower fee depending on the club’s sporting situation.

Barcelona is expected to continue monitoring his performances until the end of the season before making a final decision on a possible move.
