Central Election Commission Decides: Diaspora Voters Can Vote with Expired Documents

The Central Election Commission (CEC) announces that it has approved a decision allowing voters with expired identification documents of the Republic of Kosovo to vote at polling stations.

Furthermore, voters with expired identification documents of the Republic of Kosovo are allowed to vote at polling stations for the regular elections of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, which will be held on February 8 and 9, 2025.

“The Central Election Commission, in accordance with the authorizations granted by Articles 63, 64, and Article 90 of Law No. 08/L-228 on General Elections in the Republic of Kosovo, as well as Article 41 of Law No. 05/L-031 on General Administrative Procedure, through circulation procedure on January 8, 2025, issues this decision: To allow voting at polling stations for voters with expired identification documents of the Republic of Kosovo,” states the CEC announcement.

It also states that voters with expired identification documents of the Republic of Kosovo are allowed to vote at polling stations for the regular elections of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, which will be held on February 8 and 9, 2025.

“II. Polling station councils are required to implement this decision.

III. This decision takes effect on the day of its signing,” the announcement concludes.
