China has warned it will take “countermeasures” if the United States proceeds with plans to increase tariffs, which Beijing says are based on false media reports accusing China of providing military support to Iran.
“Media reports accusing China of supplying military assistance to Iran are completely fabricated,” a spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on the platform X.
“If the United States continues to raise tariffs against China based on these allegations, China will respond with countermeasures.”
The spokesperson added that China always acts prudently and responsibly in the export of military-related products and enforces strict controls in accordance with its laws and international obligations.
