A frightening incident occurred at Orlando International Airport in Florida, where a Delta Airlines plane caught fire before takeoff, causing panic among passengers, reports the BBC.

The incident took place on flight number 1213, which was scheduled to depart from Orlando to Atlanta, carrying nearly 300 passengers onboard.

Footage circulating on social media shows dramatic moments, with smoke and flames emerging from the aircraft’s engine as passengers evacuate via emergency slides.

The airline reported that the crew acted immediately, evacuating the cabin after “flames were seen in one of the plane’s two main engines.”

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported as a result of the incident.

Meanwhile, the Federal Aviation Administration has announced that it will launch an investigation to determine the cause of this alarming situation.
