A hearing was held at the Basic Court in Pristina against the accused Jelen Gjukanoviq, who is being tried on charges of espionage.
The prosecution has requested the maximum sentence of 25 years in prison, describing the case as a serious threat to Kosovo’s national security and constitutional order.
According to the indictment, Gjukanoviq is suspected of involvement in espionage activities and links with foreign intelligence services. She has been in pre-trial detention since her arrest in 2025.
The verdict in the case is expected to be announced on April 27, 2026.
