French Minister Delegate for Europe Benjamin Haddad is set to begin his first official visit to Kosovo today, where he will hold high-level meetings aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between Pristina and Paris.
At 9:00 a.m., Kosovo’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Glauk Konjufca, will host Haddad for bilateral talks.
Following the meeting, Konjufca, Haddad, and Kosovo’s Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, are expected to sign a series of cooperation agreements covering the fields of justice, education, and the organization of the Mediterranean Games.
The officials will then address the media during a joint press conference.
Ahead of the visit, Kosovo’s Chief Negotiator for European Union accession, Jeton Zulfaj, welcomed the French minister, describing the trip as an important step in further strengthening relations between the two countries.
Delegated by Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti to receive Haddad upon his arrival, Zulfaj also expressed Kosovo’s solidarity with France as the country battles devastating wildfires near Bordeaux.
“Welcome to the Republic of Kosovo, Minister Benjamin Haddad! It is a pleasure to welcome you on your first official visit. Kosovo stands in solidarity with France as it confronts the devastating wildfires near Bordeaux,” Zulfaj wrote on X.
He added that Kosovo and France are close allies and wished the French minister a productive and successful visit.
Haddad’s visit comes as Kosovo continues to deepen its engagement with key European partners and advance its European integration agenda through closer political and institutional cooperation.
