Palestinian resistance leaders and Hamas fighters have unveiled a new vision for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, outlining the main points of the plan during an interview with Lebanese television Al Mayadeen, reports Gazeta Sinjali.

According to Palestinian officials, the vision includes a comprehensive prisoner exchange agreement between the two sides. The proposal calls for a permanent ceasefire, the withdrawal of occupying forces from the Gaza Strip, the start of reconstruction efforts, and the lifting of the blockade imposed on Gaza.

“The vision includes the formation of a local committee composed of independent individuals and technocrats who would fully manage Gaza’s affairs, while being prepared to engage in national consensus based on previous agreements between factions,” Al Mayadeen reported.

Furthermore, Hamas leaders confirmed they are willing to agree to a long-term ceasefire lasting five years, a proposal that has now been made public.

“Immediately after reaching an agreement, military operations will cease, occupying forces will withdraw, and humanitarian aid will enter Gaza according to established humanitarian protocols,” they declared.

In contrast, the Israeli occupation had presented a proposal that did not guarantee a permanent ceasefire and envisioned a gradual resolution regarding prisoners, according to the resistance leader speaking to Al Mayadeen. The Israeli proposal also did not include a full withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.
