The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, emphasized the importance of March 24 as a double-historical milestone for Kosovo, marking two significant events in the country’s history.

“March 24 is honored in multiple ways, from the beginning of the Dukagjin Epic to NATO’s intervention a year later. On this date in 1998, three young men—Hima, Gazmendi, and Agroni—fell, but we were not broken. We carried their flag high, and for every fallen member of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK), there was inspiration to continue until the moment when NATO, led by the U.S., sent the signal that Kosovo was being liberated, that our fight was just,” Haradinaj stated.

He further declared that NATO in the sky and the UÇK on the ground finally stopped the “Butcher of the Balkans.”

“Solemnly today, we honor Kosovo by honoring those who fell on this day, we honor the United States and our partners, always remembering that NATO in the sky and the UÇK on the ground ended the butcher’s reign in the Balkans and crowned Kosovo with what it deserved—freedom and independence,” Haradinaj concluded.
