The Israeli military carried out a drone strike in southern Lebanon, just one day after agreeing to withdraw part of its forces from the region, highlighting the fragility of the ceasefire between the two sides.
According to an official from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the strike targeted what was described as an identified threat to Israeli forces stationed in the area.
The incident comes amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to implement a U.S.-brokered agreement that предусматриes the withdrawal of Israeli troops from certain areas and the transfer of control to the Lebanese Armed Forces.
However, Hezbollah has rejected the agreement. The group’s Secretary-General, Sheikh Naim Qassem, described it as a “violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty” and dismissed its implementation.
The latest developments underscore that the situation along the Israel-Lebanon border remains highly tense, despite international efforts to preserve the ceasefire and prevent further escalation of the conflict.
